Top 10 Drakensberg And Natal Midlands Golf Courses1. CATHEDRAL PEAK HOTEL GOLF CLUBCathedral Peak opened this scenic golf course on the 13th January 1996. Set against a majestic mountain backdrop the challenging 9-hole golf course (with alternate tees for an 18-hole game) has been termed the "thinking golfer's" course. 2. CHAMPAGNE SPORTS RESORTThe championship, 18-hole golf course, set against the magnificent backdrop of Champagne and Cathkin Peaks offers the golfer not only a superb challenge of golf on a perfectly manicured layout but also a scenic experience that is reward enough. The Club House is easily accessible from the resort and caddies are available as well as ,motorized golf carts which can be hired. The Pro-Shop is well stocked and lessons can be arranged with our Resident Professional. The clubhouse is also equipped with both ladies and gentlemen's locker room, a bar and light meals are served in the golf lounge and one the magnificent verandah which overlooks the golf course and the mountains beyond. 3. MOOI RIVER COUNTRY CLUBMooi River Country Club, is set in the hills with a panoramic view of the Drakensberg and surrounding farming lands. Enjoy our majestic sunsets whilst meeting the locals in the friendly Bar, the full a-la-carte menu offers scrumptious breakfasts, lunches and suppers all at reasonable prices. Enjoy a game of Golf on one of the most beautiful courses in the Midlands. The 11 hole, 18 tee par 72, rating 71 golf course will provide a challenge to the most discerning golfer. The club is a member of the Abraxis handicapping network. 4. MONKS COWL COUNTRY CLUB -Named after the Monks Cowl outcrop on the nearby mountain range, the Monks Cowl Country Club offers the chance to play its scenic golf course against wonderful views of the Drakensberg. Started in 1973, the club now numbers around sixty members. The course is 9 holes, with 18 tees. It is generally level and the 5th hole, witch crosses the deep gorge at Hattingspruit, is accessed by a swing bridge. The fairways are planted with Kikuyu, and the greens with Cynodon dactylon. 5. SANI PASS GOLF CLUBThe Sani Pass Golf course is set in the mountainous region near Lesotho. The nine hole golf course has swing bridges between some of the holes 6. GLENGARY GOLF CLUBSet deeply in the Southern Drakensberg with superb views onto the majestic mountains including Rhino Horn, Glengarry is situated on the property of the Drakensberg Gardens Hotel. The Par 4 Sixth hole (Thrombosis Hill) presents players with a challenging climb to an elevated tee.
